Start Up Summit Returns for 2017

The Start Up Summit is a one-day event designed to help start ups thrive and explore the future trends of entrepreneurship.

Marking its sixth year, the summit has signed exclusive partnerships with Barclays and angel capital association LINC Scotland, which organisers hope will help turn the summit into an unmissable event for entrepreneurs across the country.

Bruce Walker, founder of WeAreTheFuture, the company that owns Startup Summit, said: “Every major start-up hub on the planet has a start-up festival and it’s about time Scotland does as well.

“We’re excited to sign a major partnership with Barclays Bank and LINC Scotland who are throwing their weight behind the summit and bringing expertise at every stage of growth for entrepreneurs.”

Stuart Brown, head of SME at Barclays said “Barclays is passionate about helping businesses. We launched a High Growth relationship team to specifically address the gap in Scotland’s scale-ups, supporting entrepreneurs across their journey, from startup to IPO. The Startup Summit plays a valuable role in backing entrepreneurs and we’re pleased to be part of it, helping founders to take their business to the next level.”

David Graeme, executive director at LINC Scotland, said: “The angel community is a key building block in Scotland’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and we’re excited to get behind the Startup Summit, which gives entrepreneurs access to many of the resources they need to succeed.”

Held across multiple stages in one venue, those who attend the festival will hear from founders and executives of a variety of successful companies.

One of the entrepreneurs who is scheduled to appear at Start UP Summit is Brewdog co-founder James Watt.

Speakers from previous years include Duncan Logan, founder of the RocketSpace technology campus in San Francisco, and visitors from companies such as Google, Deliveroo, Virgin, and SkyScanner.

Over 1,000 entrepreneurs are expected to attend the event, which is now in its sixth year, along with more than 60 speakers, and over 50 exhibitors.

Tickets for the event are now on sale, along with tickets to an afterparty, to be held at the The Caves in the Edinburgh vaults.   Here  : http://www.bqlive.co.uk/business-professional-services/2017/07/28/news/start-up-summit-returns-for-2017-26662/
