The chief executive and co-founder of KILTR – the Scottish social media network that shut down last week – has revealed a “significant” new investor as the business moves into its next incarnation.
Singapore-based Brian Gillies has joined existing investors to become a “major shareholder” in the business, now known as CollectivWorks. A Scottish economics graduate, Gillies worked as a fund manager in London before moving into property and eventually resettling in Singapore where he now works as a financial adviser.
He joins existing investors including Paul Atkinson’s Par Equity and Scottish Investment Bank , who provided backing in the early days after KILTR was founded in 2009.
