Archangels appoints new academic in residence

Archangels has appointed Professor Adam Stokes as its new academic in residence.

The current co-lead of The National Robotarium and deputy director of the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics will help the world’s longest running angel investment syndicate review opportunities from life sciences and technology businesses.

As well as a successful academic career, Stokes is also the founder of several businesses in the healthtech and robotics space – and consults on a variety of other ventures.

He has assisted Archangels’ new deals committee since 2020, on a consultancy basis.

Now holding a formal role with Archangels, both parties are looking to find Scottish businesses with a combination of novel solutions to important problems, protectable intellectual property, and a team whose expertise are aligned with scaling the business globally.
