Scottish wool-based technology lands £800,000 investment

A Scottish company looking to revolutionise the way buildings are insulated has secured £800,000 in funding.

Sisaltech has been backed by Tricapital Angels and Scottish Enterprise.

The Midlothian-based company uses natural and recycled fibres to create low-carbon insulation products that are highly breathable and well-suited to retro-fitting traditional stone buildings.

Its SISALWOOL products can be used in a variety of applications, including pitched roofs, wall and under suspended timber floors. It is already listed at B&Q, with the new investment set to allow Sisaltech to scale its operations to meet growing demand.
