Setting the Investment Journey Up for Success – 9th May 2017

For Investor Directors, Chairs, Non-Executive Directors and Gatekeepers

This workshop is aimed at setting up the investment journey for success by ensuring alignment of interests between founders and investors and assessing and identifying key strengths, skills and gaps in the executive team at the outset. Minimising conflicts between “building business” and “maximising investor returns”.

It will discuss how to align the investor and founder directors through a clearly defined common vision, measures of success and added value roles. Appropriate compensation plans that align the interests of the investors and the founders will be considered.

Key Outcomes

  • Holding honest conversations on the reality of the business plan, milestones and exit options.
  • Assessing and measuring skills required for different stages of the journey
  • Measuring the team against these skills
  • Clearly defining roles and responsibilities of the exec team and board including the “value add” to build the team
  • How to effectively review the company on a six monthly or annual basis
  • Investment terms and compensation plans that maximise alignment and exit value.
