Angel funding is the most significant source of investment in start-up and early-stage businesses in the UK. In the UK it is estimated that there are between 10,000 and 20,000 angel investors and about £1.5billion of angel funding going into UK businesses each year. This type of funding has been responsible for getting many of the world’s most innovative companies up and running. Angel investing, whilst high risk and unregulated, can provide very high returns and there are a range of attractive tax reliefs in the UK designed to encourage this type of investing to help start up and seed exciting companies of scale.
This event will be an opportunity for attendees to hear from Archangel on their insights into angel investing and how their angel syndicate operates. You will also hear insights from MBM Commercial on negotiating and completing angel investment deals. Finally, Chiene + Tait will discuss the practical aspects of securing key tax reliefs such as SEIS, EIS, EMI and Entrepreneur Reliefs which are key ingredients of angel investments, setting up share options for staff and growth company exit planning.
