–PRESS RELEASE —
LINC Scotland has announced the appointment of John McNicol, director of Kelvin Capital, to the board. Industry representation on the board of the national association for business angels in Scotland is by rotation to take account of the geographical origins and types of member groups. Kelvin Capital replaces the Barwell Group as the west of Scotland presence on the LINC board.
Jock Millican, chairman of LINC Scotland, welcomed the different perspective McNicol will bring to the board. “Kelvin Capital is one of the most active angel groups in Scotland and John’s appointment will bring a west coast focus to the table. All the syndicates do things slightly differently, so it will be beneficial to have input from both east and west coast groups.”
McNicol, who founded Kelvin Capital in 2009, says he is delighted to be joining the LINC board at an exciting time of growth for Scotland’s angel community. “The formation of new angel groups and amount of investment in early-stage companies is on an upward trajectory. Equally Scotland’s reputation of being at the forefront of angel investment continues to grow internationally. I look forward to working with the board to ensure high potential start-ups, as well as the wider Scottish economy, continue to benefit from angel investment.”
