Social Investment Scotland has this week launched a new pilot fund which aims to raise funds from private investors to support social enterprises in Scotland.
Launching on Monday 18th May, SIS Community Capital aims to attract investment of up to £500,000 from UK based investors. The money will then be used (by way of loan) to support between five to ten social enterprises in Scotland.
Where investors are eligible, investments should benefit from social investment tax relief which includes 30% relief from income tax liability. In addition to the tax relief, investors will also earn a pre-tax return of 1.5% per annum on their investment. The fund is available to:-
• high net worth individuals; and
• sophisticated investors.
If you are interested, please complete the HNWI or sophisticated investors certificate. If only the HNW is applicable then no IFA sign off is required.
